Shortly after I received my MVP award I had the pleasure of recording an episode of #MVPBuzzChat with none other than Christian Buckley, someone who started as one of my role models and over time became a mentor and a friend in the M365 community.
As part of the series, Christian shared a write-up about our chat where he highlighted my own words back to me. Seeing the way I described myself reflected through someone else’s platform, especially someone I have admired for years, was both surreal and validating.
We talked about my 3:01 a.m. MVP welcome email (and yes I had to celebrate it in the wee hours of a Monday morning), my path into SharePoint and M365, my latest adventures with SharePoint brand center, governance, and making Copilot useful instead of hype.
We also dug into what community really means. The people I once looked up to have now become peers and friends. That shift is powerful. Mentors who once guided me are now the same people encouraging me to share my own stories. We talked about how roles in this space keep blurring, how governance never goes away, and why community is still the best multiplier for learning and growth.
Recording this episode reminded me of something simple: persistence pays off, mentorship matters, and your story is worth telling in your own way.
